AN INTERCONNECTED FAMILY OF CONTENDING PRAYER COHORTS WORLDWIDE

What is EPC?

Ekklesia Prayer Communities believes that the prayer movement initiated by the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 has not stopped since 33 AD. Nevertheless, for 2000 years, there have been numerous movements, reformations and restorations of the spirit of prayer. As such, the Body of Christ has come to understand the glories and burdens of intercession, the zeal of the Lord for His house, and has benefited for decades and centuries from continually increasing revelation of the unique alliance Heaven desires with Earth. But the importance of the original vice-regency of Adam is only increasing, not decreasing. Because the dual tasks of “asking for nations” (Psalm 2:8) and “discipling nations” (Matt. 28:19) are intimately connected, it falls to the entire nation of Heaven’s sons and daughters to exercise their royal priesthood to achieve both outcomes to the full measure Christ intended.

EPC is not striving to be a movement, but rather to move history. We are focused on a critical restoration of meaning centered around the true mission, authority and function of the ekklesia. As both a word and a concept, ekklesia is far more robust than what we have built around it, i.e. “church.” The ekklesia don’t assemble to take attendance on Sunday morning. We gather to build relationship, grow in union with Christ, and get Kingdom business done. We engage the enemy. We take territory. We exercise dominion. We love well, forgive much, and invade culture. For 30+ years, the modern “prayer movement” has beautifully engaged the global Body of Christ on the importance of prayer, but this also means our most dominant models emerged during a time of relative peace and prosperity. The world is now shifting to a climate of chaos and war. But fear not!…because ekklesia is a divine war machine. It is a governing spiritual body. By definition, the ekklesia build outposts of heaven, divine embassies, on contested ground. In every  gateway to darkness, we will contend in prayer until darkness is made into light.
